Farhad Sabet has held a Diploma of Building Design and Technology from Holmesglen Institute of TAFE since 2005. Following graduation, he joined John Sutton Consulting Engineer, where he worked under the mentorship of Mr John Sutton, a highly experienced structural engineer and building design professional. During his one-and-a-half-year tenure as a structural and architectural draftsperson, Farhad developed a strong understanding of the practical relationship between structural engineering and architectural design across residential, commercial and industrial projects. His responsibilities included preparing detailed structural and architectural drawings, undertaking site investigations, documenting existing conditions and collecting essential design information, including land levels and topographical data. He also carried out calculations for residential timber framing, bracing and tie-down requirements, establishing a solid technical foundation that continues to inform his design and documentation work. Seeking to broaden his architectural experience, Farhad subsequently joined Burns Architecture, where he worked for nearly seven years under the direction of senior architect Mr Mark Burns. Initially employed as an architectural draftsperson, Farhad prepared schematic designs, planning drawings and construction documentation. His commitment, design ability and passion for architecture progressively led to greater involvement in conceptual design and project development. During his time at Burns Architecture, Farhad gained extensive experience in high-end residential architecture, including individually designed homes, new dwelling developments and alterations and additions to existing buildings. This experience strengthened his ability to balance design quality, construction practicality and client requirements. Inspired by Mr Burns’s architectural vision and professional expertise, Farhad pursued further education at Deakin University. He initially studied architecture part-time before transitioning to full-time study and completing a Bachelor of Design (Architecture) at Deakin University’s Geelong Waterfront campus. Following completion of his undergraduate degree, Farhad joined Englehart Homes, one of Australia’s most recognised and highly awarded residential building companies. Over approximately four years, he worked as an architectural draftsperson, transforming preliminary architect-designed concepts into comprehensive client presentation packages, town planning applications and detailed construction working drawings. Farhad later worked as an Architectural Documenter with Destination Living for just over a year, further developing his architectural design, coordination and documentation expertise within the high-end residential sector. Farhad currently operates as a freelance Building Designer through Sabet Design Pty Ltd, providing architectural design, planning and construction documentation services for a range of residential projects. He has also completed his Master of Architecture at Deakin University, further strengthening the academic, creative and technical knowledge developed throughout more than two decades of education and professional experience in building design and architecture.
